Mega Man and Astro Boy
whats going on?
hey, dont you think there's something going on with astro boy and mega man? ...maybe not.... It's important to know that Mega Man is called "Rock Man" in Japanese.
Origins
Rock was created by the brilliant Dr. Light to be a lab assistant and a son. But when Dr. Light's partner, Dr. Wily, stole their six new Robot Masters and tried to use them to take over the world, Dr. Light remodeled Rock into the warrior known as Mega Man.
Astro is a masculine robot with human emotions created by former Science Ministry director Umataro Tenma. Astro is (or initially was) the robotic reincarnation of Tobio Tenma, created in the boy's image. Despite his rough upbringing, comprised of being rejected by his creator and sold to a robot circus where he was forced to fight other robots before being rescued by Hiroshi Ochanomizu, Astro is the embodiment of a hero with a strong sense of justice and is always willing to defend the helpless.

Both are sons created and formed into warriors and raised by a proxy-father figure.... they both have secret brothers (Atlas for Astro Boy, Blues/Proto Man for Mega Man )
They both have sisters...
Both are femme with red-pink miniskirts and chunky red shoes...
Both have scientists who parent them....
Ok.... Both are kind of older rotund guys with distinctive white hair....
What about our antagonists?
Wily and Temna are both scientist guys with wild darker hair... but their personalities are different. Temna isn't a bad guy, just a bad parent to Astro. He's cold and uncaring because he messed up and tried to recreate his son. Wily is driven by jealousy and tries to make killer robots, several times. That's much worse!
conclusion
it's probably nothing. i just wonder about it sometimes. maybe these are just common storytelling elements. maybe i like both of them for their similiarities...
but on the other hand..... how samurai pizza cats shaped mega man X
